Courses > Foundation Degree Courses
Foundation Degrees (FDs) are stand-alone vocational Higher Education qualifications that combine academic study with hands-on work experience.
FDs aim to develop skills and knowledge directly related to specific fields of employment. The FDs offered by the Western Foundation Degree Consortium (WFDC) have been designed in consultation with local employers and Sector Skills Councils to ensure that these work-based qualifications are recognised as a real asset. They enable progression from NVQ level 3, or equivalents, and, upon successful completion, enable progression to Honours Degree level.
